Rules of the game.

‘Enter the FOX DEN’ is a dice game for 2 to 6 players. The aim of the game is to get all 60 foxes safely into the FOX DEN.
The players take turns rolling the dice and placing a fox on the board corresponding to the number rolled.
The playing field consists of spaces for the numbers 1 to 5 and a central hole for the number 6.
Players either place their playing pieces on the spaces or throw them into the FOX DEN.
A 6 allows a fox to be thrown through the central hole. In this way, the foxes can be removed from the game for the entire duration of the game. If a number space is occupied (e.g. all five 5 spaces) and a player rolls another 5, they must remove all foxes from the playing field and add them to their stock.

Preparation:

Distribute the 60 foxes fairly among all players:

  • 2 Players: 30 foxes per person
  • 3 Players: 20 foxes per person
  • 6 Players: 10 foxes per person

Gameplay:

Round 1

All players roll the dice exactly once.

Round 2
All players roll the dice exactly twice.

From Round 3 onwards
Each person may roll the dice as often as they like, but must roll at least once.
After each roll, a fox is placed on the square corresponding to the number rolled.

Placing a fox
If a 1 to 5 is rolled, the fox lands on the square corresponding to the number rolled.

Rolled a 6?
Then the fox lands in the central hole / the FOX DEN. This fox is safely stored away and out of the game.

Square already occupied?
If a number is rolled that corresponds to squares already occupied by foxes, the player in question must pick up all the foxes from the board.

Stopping the dice
To avoid this risk, there is another rule: each player can stop rolling the dice and end their turn at any time. However, each player must roll the dice at least once.

Winner
The first player to place all their foxes in the FOX DEN wins the game.
